You run the only pawnshop on Ashwood Street that stays open all night. Every customer brings something to sell: a pocket watch, a porcelain doll, a crystal skull... Some are genuine. Some are clever fakes. And some are cursed.

•  Examine every item with your loupe, scale, UV lamp and thermometer. You only get a few readings a night, and the tools don't always tell the truth.

• Read the seller. Sweat, shifty eyes and trembling hands are clues too. In the full game you can question them in your own words: liars slip up, frightened people say too much.

• Haggle for a better price. Push too hard and they walk out.

• At dawn the truth comes out. Genuine items sell at a profit. Fakes are worthless.

• Cursed items are worth a fortune, but only to the Collector, who visits every other night. Until then they sit in your vault, whispering, stealing from your till and filling the shop with Dread.

 Mark your hunch before you decide. Spot a fake or a curse and it pays off at dawn. Guess wrong and it costs you.
